The Hinky Pink: An Old Tale by Megan McDonald

When Princess Isabella Caramella Gorgonzola sends for Anabel to make her a dress for the Butterfly Ball, Anabel’s dream is about to come true. With one week only to make the dress, Anabel must get her sleep. Each night something pinches her and steals her bed covers. If Anabel can’t determine who or what is pinching and how to make it happy, her dream of one of her dresses being worn to a ball will never come true.

  1. My favorite part of this book was the illustrations. A note at the end explains that some of the illustrations are of famous Italian architecture.***

I kind of liked this book, but I didn't really get why the princess was so stubborn. Princesses are supposed to be nice. I like the part where you find out what the hinky pink is. I don't want to spoil the ending for you.

Truly funny and it is like a bunch of princess stories all together. I also like the illustations beacuse it seems like it's fit for the book.

This book was a nice book. I liked how Anabel was able to sew for the princess. I liked how the dress seemed to make the princess a nicer person. I really like the picture of the dress Anabel made.

  11. This book was funny to me because of the hinky pink. The thing i don't get is why the princess was so greedy. There supposed to be nice and kind but she wasn't that much. The hinky pink didn't turn out like i thought it would. But wait till you see it's size bed!

***Hinky Pinky was interesting book. Anabel was a girl who made very nice dresses. So one day a messenger came to tell her to make a dress for the princess. Until she could not sleep cause a little creature was biting her.

  23. It was ok for a boy in the 5th grade, but it's not my kind of book. It's about a girl who sews. The princess messed up her dress. Mag, the maid, when out to find Anabell to sew a new dress for the Butterfly Ball. Anabell had a good room in the tower but she had 1 week to make the dress. The Hinky Pink was a promble to Anabell but she found a way to get the dress done. I thought the drawings were good.

  37. I liked this book because it told about a poor girl who was asked to create a beautiful dress for the princess. When she tried to sleep someone kept stealing her covers. It was very mysterious. I think this book would be rated "good".

I really didn't like this book. It was ok. The best part was the illustrations and they weren't fantastic. I'm surprised that a flea could cause that much trouble
